Mug FAQ

A key is an object that triggers a lock. Made of plastic, metal, wood or other rigid material. The first locks that were used in Rome were extremely simple: they consisted of two rings, one on each flap of the door, and between them was driven a nail (in Latin "clavus, clavi"). And it could open and close. With this novelty, the name of the nail ("clavus") was slightly changed to be called "clavis", from which the word "key" originated in our language. The shape of the key is the first secret: only a key with an equivalent profile and in the correct position can be used.
