The Holy Face of JesusAccording to Tradition and various historical testimonies, Saint Veronica would have taken the veil with the Holy Face of Jesus to Europe. He was found in the year 525 in the city of Edessa. Somehow, later, it reached Rome and, a few centuries later, it was exposed in St. Peter's Basilica for the veneration of the faithful. A century later, it was taken to the Church of the “Volto Santo”, that is, of the Holy Face, in the city of Manoppello, which is 190 km from Rome, where, until today, it is venerated by the faithful.
